Jeff Feldman is of counsel to the SUMMIT LAW GROUP and maintains offices in Anchorage and Seattle. He also holds an appointment as Affiliate Professor of Law at the University of Washington School of Law, where he teaches Trial Advocacy and Advanced Civil Procedure. Mr. Feldman obtained his B.A. and J.D. degrees from Northeastern University and served as a law clerk to Alaska Supreme Court Justice Edmond W. Burke.

He served for 12 years as Chair of the Alaska Commission on Judicial Conduct, and also served as a member of the Board of Governors and as President of the Alaska Bar Association, and as president of the Alaska Academy of Trial Lawyers. In 1998, he received the Alaska Bar Association’s Professionalism Award, and twice has received the U.S. District Court’s Public Service Award. In 2013 in received the Alaska Bar Association’s Humanitarian Award for a decade of work in connection with a death penalty case in Texas. Mr. Feldman is a fellow of the American Academy of Appellate Lawyers, a members of the American Law Institute, and a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers.

Mr. Feldman has maintains a trial and appellate caseload that often involves litigation of constitutional issues. He has handled cases involving the constitutionality of restrictions on reproductive freedom [Valley Hospital Ass’n, Inc. v. Mat-Su Coalition for Choice; Perdue v. Planned Parenthood of Alaska]; ballot initiatives [Northwest Cruise Ship Ass’n., Inc. v. State of Alaska; State of Alaska v. Trust the People Initiative Committee]; punitive damages [Ace v. Aetna Life Ins. Co.; Aetna Life Ins. Co. v. Fisher]; state leasing of natural resources [Baxley v. State of Alaska and BP Exploration (Alaska), Inc.]; legislative redistricting [In re 2001 Redistricting Cases]; the federal government’s zero tolerance policy [Hogan v. von Raab]; criminal procedure [Farleigh v. Municipality of Anchorage; Arnold v. State; Reynolds v. State; State v. Serdahely; and Plas v. State]; issues of reproductive freedom [Planned Parenthood of the Great Northwest v. State of Alaska]. and imposition of the death penalty by the State of Texas on a mentally retarded offender [Chester v. Thaler].
